He's Here at Last (and now 3 weeks old today!)

This is the last picture of me as a pregnant lady. It was taken the night before at my parents the night before Nolan was born.

So I had my little angel. I went in on Monday June 23rd to be induced because he was supposed to be a very big baby. When I got there, I was already dilated to a 3 and I was having mild contractions even though I couldn't really tell. Anyhow, they put me on pitocin and broke my water, and that's when the contractions became very big. I got an epidural pretty quick once I reached a 4.
Then 8 hours go by, and the contractions are still very large. According to my doctor they were big enough to push out a baby elephant. She told me that I needed to have a c-section at this time due to my failure to progress.
By this time, I was in tears. I didn't want to have a c-section, and I was just so emotional. I couldn't hold them back. They gave me the news between 4:15-4:30, and Nolan was born at 5:06 . It doesn't take much time to get those little guys out if you need to. Getting him out was easy. Stitching me back up took about 30-40 minutes. I cried again as soon as I heard his little cry. It was precious.
He peed on the nurses right away, and he weighed just 7 lbs. 15 oz. Not too big. Nick got to hold him right away, and he held him up to my head and I got to kiss him while they stitched me up. They took him away pretty quick to do a checkup on him.

This is the first picture of him. They had just finished his checkup. He was beautiful from the start, and he justs gets cuter and cuter every day.

This is the first time I was able to hold him. I was in recovery. I was one happy momma. You can't tell from the picture, but I couldn't feel or move my legs. It was the strangest thing.

Nolan is a couple of days old here, and it is the first picture taken with his daddy. Until this point, Nick had been taking all of the pictures. I think Nolan looks like his daddy.

I just couldn't help taking a lot of these pictures. I'm in love with Nolan. He's just so cute to me.

Nolan lost a lot of weight the first few days. He got down to 7 lbs. 2 oz. At his 2 week check-up, he had gained it all back and some. He weighed 8 lbs. 11oz. He's a good eater. This is him in his take home outfit. It's quite big in him. He fits in it much better now.

This is right before we put him in the car seat. Daddy is so happy. Don't they look alike?

First picture in his car seat. He looks so small. He does pretty well in the car, but once we get to our destination, that is another story.

Here Nolan is at home with Daddy. He loves to be next to him. I think it is the heartbeat thing. it reminds him of being inside again.

Sometimes I just have to take a picture. He looks so peaceful. Here you can see that he's put on some good baby fat. He has the cutest little cheeks.

Time for a bath. I love the cute little bath accessories we have. Thanks everyone. They help him to stay warm. So far, Nolan like his baths if he is warm. Once he gets cold, it's all over from there.

I just had to take this picture after the bath. He was so wide awake.

You can't tell here, but his eyes are a dark blue color. I wonder if he'll keep that color. His hair is pretty blond, so it would make sense to keep blue eyes.

Wide awake looking at Mom again.

Asleep not looking at Mom anymore.

We have had so many visitors, and we love seeing everyone. Thanks for everything. Let me know what you all think of my little guy. Love ya!!!
