We celebrated Nolan's Birthday the Saturday after. We just went to the park down the street from our house, and we had quite a turnout. It was lots of fun for us. As always, Nolan was spoiled beyond belief.
Here are some of our favorite people that attended Nolan's Party.
Great Grandma Mairs and her beautiful Sister Aunt Della (Dede)

Koen and Brooklan (Waiting for their cake.)

Cousin Layla and Dog Bowie (He's got David Bowie eyes.)

Nolan is taking advantage of being the birthday boy here. He was using the candles to scrape off some frosting. Mmmmm....

We just couldn't get him to look at the camera before we sang to him, but oh well. We unfortunately could light the candles either because the wind was blowing so hard. It actually made hard to decorate and cook the hamburgers. What can you do?

Here Doug and Mom were able to get a good picture in!

Nolan had a Thomas the Train themed birthday, so we found a blue train pinata, and it was a hit. Here Nolan is practicing after it was broken by the oldest cousin Jessiah. We started with the youngest and went up, but it just took the oldest I suppose.

Nolan and Jaren here are good buddies (usually). Nolan is just a few weeks older than Jaren. Here they are taking turns with the bat...

Here's the birthday boy happy to have some candy, and very curious about the pinata!

There was much candy to be had by all. Yum-o. I think they even shared with Aunt Dede. She's a chocolate lover through and through.

I made the cake for Nolan again this year. It was pretty fun to do. A couple of weeks before the birthday, we found a big lot of Thomas and Friends train stuff at a yard sale. We found so much loot, and I just decided to use some of it to help decorate the cake, etc.

I had a lot of fun making the cake. It really wasn't too hard to do. I would love to take a cake decorating class sometime. I think that would help with all my decorating skills. I think I could make it look a bit more realistic too.

Here's the present daddy just couldn't not get him. It's a glider/balance bike. Nick's friends at work told him that he had to get it for Nolan, so he did. It's supposed to help him learn to balance really well. He just has to use his legs to propel and then learn to glide along. I think he likes it a lot. I think it may just take time for him to get used to it.

Nolan had to thank everyone for the presents, so here he is posing with some of Nick's family.

And again here with some more of Nick's family. (We had a good turnout on both sides of the family.)

We even got Great Grandpa Mairs to come. I'm so glad we live close to them. I'm glad Nolan will get to know them.
