Popenoe Family Reunion Part 2

Hiking and Waterfalls
Silver Falls State Park, OR

So, Silver FAlls State park is filled with beautiful hikes both long and short, and they are filled with wonderous, beautiful water falls. Nick, Nolan, and I all went for some short hikes to two of the many water falls available. I belive they were the two "upper falls". Take a look at the map provided to see what I mean...

The hikes were short, but they had so much beautiful scenery. I thoroughly enjoyed it all, and I wish we would have been able to stay a bit longer so that we could have taken in all the rest of the falls. Maybe we'll have to plan anohter trip in a couple of years.
Anyhow, Here we have Nolan and Dad starting off in the parking lot. Nolan was so good the whole time. I think he really enjoyed looking around and taking in all the new scenery as much as we did.
Here is the first water fall we came across. I love all the greenery that comes with it too. This was a nice one to get very close to.

This next water fall was just a bit farther down river from the first. It was very different. It fell much further down. We were also able to go behind the water fall which was awesome to see.

Here we see some of my crazy cousins at the top of the waterfall. It looked like they were right on the edge! I'm sure they were nothing but safe though.

Here are a few pictures of us behind the falls. It was really quite peaceful to just sit back there and listen. Too bad Nolan wasn't as interested as we were to do that...
So, we did hike most of the time with Rob and Tiff and Koen and Brooklan. It was fun, and we were able to help out the other with some family shots. We also ran into Ryan, Krista, and Layla on the wasy back and got this group shot.

Wish we could have all been in the picture! I guess someone has to take the picture. I had so much fun on the hikes. Like I said before, it is so beautiful. I enjoyed almost every minute of it! We are definitely going back again soon!
