Nolan's 3rd Birthday

June 25, 2011

Nolan made out like a bandit (like every year). We did a "Cars" themed birthday party at Nolan's request. He had a hard time deciding between that and "Toy Story". It turned out pretty good for me being about 8 months pregnant and tired.
The first thing we did when all the guest got there was go play on all the park toys with cousins and friends. Pretty awesome!

The next thing was eat! We ordered some sandwiches so we wouldn't have to sweat. Everyone was nice enough to bring some side dishes. We had a ton of yummy food!

This is what Nolan was doing when he was supposed to be eating...

Next we played some games while I got the cake ready, etc. We basically played Duck, Duck, Goose. It was a fun toddlers version of it anyways. Basically you do the duck, duck, goose part, and then run fast and far. Nick was the lucky one in charge of that! Of course sometimes their version of Duck, Duck, Goose requires that you all just run!
And sometimes you have to catch them and bring them back...
The Next game was the pinata. It was a great favorite of the kiddos. (Lots of candy;)

Nolan did pretty well, but in the end it was an older cousin that broke the pinata.

Yum, yum, yum!
Candy, Candy everywhere!
Brooklan and Koen tied on the kids with the most candy. ;)

Nolan happy eating his meager amount of candy.

Next was the cake. I tried my hand at making it again this year! It is supposed to be the race track at Radiator Valley...It at least tasted really good. (I know this because a bird landed in it and then started to munch away! Don't worry, that was after most everyone got a slice!

You can't expect a three year old to keep his fingers out for too long...
Because most likely you will have to do some more waiting...
Better hurry and blow the candles out, or Jaren will do it for you...
Good Job Nolan!
This face says it all. Priceless.

After that, Nolan made it to the presents! (Finally!)

Nolan loved everything he got (and he got a lot of wonderful things like a pass to the zoo, wonderful clothes, toys, books, bubbles, games, and etc. Thank you everyone!), but he liked the Lightning McQueen bike the best. In fact, it was a big favorite of all the kids.
We had a great turn out with lots of friends and family especially.

And from the Mairs Clan we have...

Grandpa Doug and Grandma Fae Uncle Ken and Uncle Ryan

Of course there were many others including Aunt Tiffany, cousins Layla, Koen, Brooklan, Aunt Krista, Uncle Doug (the wonderful photographer), Carissa and her two kiddos, and the Khountham clan as well.

And don't forget Koen...(being tortured by Uncle Ryan here)

The party was great. The company was awesome. All in all it was a great success! Thank you all for coming, and to those of you who couldn't make it, we missed you bunches.

We're so happy that Nolan has grown into such a fun, happy, and healthy kid. We love him so much and we're so lucky to have him in our lives. Love you so much Nolan! Thanks for your wonderful smile and sweet giggle!
