At the beginning of April, a very close co-worker and friend of mine was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Maureen is only 37 years old, so this just caught me very off guard. It affected me quite a lot, so I thought what better thing to do than to organize a group for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K run/walk. We got quite a group of people together, and I'm hoping we also raised a fair amount of money for the cause too.Below, in the picture from left to right, you see Windy, Nolan, Sage, Lindsey, Renee, Maureen, Jason, Sabina, Kaiden, Natasha, Austin, Stephanie, and Kori. We also had some late comers that were unable to make to picture. Debbie and her son Vincent would have been there if they could. Altogether a good turn out and good weather too!
Here's to the start of a new tradition. We love ya Maureen and we know you're going to do well throughout your surgery and treatments!
Nick would have been with us if he could, but before we knew about Maureen, he had already signed up for his second bike race. It was in Mountain Home, ID this time, and this time Nick felt and performed exceptionally! I'm so proud of him! He only got one picture as he couldn't take very good ones by himself, but I think there is something artistic to it. I love ya babe!
